I was called to First Baptist six years ago.  I discovered that God had given me a debt free campus, a little used gymnasium, a church kitchen, a multitude of classrooms and 20 members that loved the Lord but mainly believed the church was about them instead of those not yet here.  The Lord has healed that mindset and the Sunday I asked the congregation if they were willing to allow the Lord to birth an academy that would be dedicated to Biblical truth in all areas of education and character development, designed to build lives to thrive beyond their time with us – the 65 members voted 100% “yes Lord, here am I.”

As my staff and congregation began to pray about this academy, we discovered in our midst, the good Lord had brought together highly talented people with conservative Christian values, high academics; experienced life talents for teaching music and forming children’s lives, junior high and high school choirs that had traveled the world, had conducted the Billy Graham Crusade Choir in Brazil as a seminary student and others who had written and published nearly a score of books, others a heart for writing and others trained in media production and publication; the arts, an adjunct professor from the very university we desired to partner with for our curriculum, professional food service director and other experienced life skills that would require little recruitment in order to offer your child a blue ribbon faculty and staff committed to academic excellence and biblical truth.
